Maccabi Lod Boxing Gym

Israeli Boxing Championship for kids and adolescents took place between 27-30/7/2012 with more than 169 participants representing boxing clubs across Israel. Our club was repressented by 2 young sportsmen, first Yahie Alenbalasi born in 1999 competed in +75 kg weight category for adolescents and the second is Nashat Elgiamal born in 2000 competed in 38-40 kg weight category for kids.

In the semi finals Yahie fought rival from Naharia and lost by controversial judges decision, and was ousted from the competition. We want to notice that Yahie fought well despite his inexperience, the trainers stuff decided to allow him to enter the competition based on his progress and Yahie didn't disappoint with his performance in the bout. It's unfortunate but there are a lot of instances of bad judging decisions in our sport on all levels of competition.

Our second sportsman Nashat Elgiamal fought in quarterfinals against rival from Kfar Kana and won by points. Nashsat connected repeatedly with his punches and haven't left any doubt in judges minds about his victory.

On the second day of the competition during his ride to fight Nashat wasn't feeling well and was in doubt for a semifinal fight but didn't disappoint and fought well. He fought against boxer from Katsrin and won by TKO in second round, after Nashat sent his opponent to knock down the fight was stopped by the rival's corner.

In the finals Nashat fought well against boxer from Kfar Yasif but unfortunately lost by points and had to settle for the second place and a lot of respect for his performance.

We want to remind that Nashat began his training 6 month ago and made huge progress and even succeeded in wining tournaments in Ashdod and Nesher. To win 2nd place in Israeli championship for his age, after training only 6 months is very good accomplishment.
